Large 3D LCD for optimal operation
Eaton 9PX series has a new large-screen clear graphic LCD display. The LCD screen can be rotated 180 degrees along its own plane center to adapt to R/T interchange, and the viewing angle can be adjusted along the horizontal center axis to facilitate user viewing and operation; enhanced UPS configuration functions, power consumption information, comprehensive UPS status and data analysis display can be easily completed on the LCD screen, making it easier for users to manage equipment.
The LCD screen can be rotated 180 degrees along its own plane center to accommodate R/T interchange, and the LCD viewing angle can be adjusted along the horizontal center axis to accommodate staff viewing and operation. In addition, Eaton’s patented intelligent load partitioning function can also be implemented through the LCD screen: it can prioritize shutting down non-critical loads to extend battery backup time and strengthen protection for critical loads; it can also remotely restart locked network devices and implement regular device shutdown and restart.
Eaton 9PX UPS power factor test
In an AC circuit, the cosine of the phase difference (Φ) between voltage and current is called the power factor, represented by the symbol cosΦ. Numerically, the power factor is the ratio of active power to apparent power, that is, cosΦ=P/S.
Power factor is an important technical data of the power system. Power factor is a coefficient to measure the efficiency of electrical equipment. A low power factor indicates that the reactive power used by the circuit for alternating magnetic field conversion is large, which reduces the utilization rate of the equipment and increases the line power supply loss. We use FLUKE instrument to evaluate Eaton 93E UPS. The test results are as follows:
From the above picture we can see that the Eaton 9PX UPS works very efficiently.
9PX UPS monitoring and communication function
For a UPS system for high-end applications, a complete communication monitoring function is a must. Eaton has equipped its new 9PX series UPS with a complete monitoring solution that can meet the needs of different users. This includes Eaton’s latest IPP (Intelligent Power Protector) and IPM (Intelligent Power Module) monitoring systems released globally.
IPM Monitoring System
IPM is Eaton’s first centralized monitoring software released for global customers that supports 13 languages including Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. It can be used to monitor all Eaton UPS systems over the network. The IPM version that supports centralized monitoring of up to 10 UPS devices is free, which is very good news for users of small and medium-sized computer rooms with less than 10 UPS. Users can get Eaton’s original centralized monitoring software without paying for the software.
Since the design of IPM is based on the B/S system architecture, it uses the dynamic web page technology of WEB 2.0. Its configuration operation is completely carried out in the window of the web browser, which is very simple for administrators who are familiar with the browser operation interface. And IPM is designed with very powerful automatic functions. Once the software is started, it will automatically search and install all manageable power equipment in the current LAN and incorporate it into its own monitoring system. After the 9PX UPS is configured with the network card, start the IPM software, and IPM will immediately search and identify this UPS and automatically add it to its monitoring list.
The IPM monitoring system itself is designed with a very high degree of automation, which can help administrators greatly simplify many daily maintenance tasks, such as including software self-upgrades. The automatic upgrade function of the IPM software can remind administrators that the system can be upgraded, and automatically download upgrade components from the Internet and install the upgrade. In addition, the IPM software can also detect whether the network card of the UPS it manages has the latest upgradeable firmware or the latest version of the shutdown software, and can remotely upgrade the UPS network card and shutdown software in batches online through the network. In this way, under the premise of ensuring that the equipment and software used by the user are the latest versions, the operation time of manual upgrades can be greatly reduced, as well as the possible operational errors that may occur during manual upgrades.
Full support for virtualized IT systems
Eaton UPS is the first power supply in the industry to support virtualized IT systems. The newly launched 9PX series UPS fully supports virtualization systems such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix.
Combined with Eaton’s intelligent power management suite IPP/IPM, it can provide safer and more reliable protection for modern virtualized computer rooms. It can not only shut down virtual machines safely and smoothly to ensure data security, but also trigger the real-time migration function of virtual machines to migrate important applications to servers with safe power supply to ensure uninterrupted business.
Eaton’s 9PX series UPS (5-11kVA) has a double-conversion topology, which can ensure the most stable and purest sine wave output in any power environment, improving the efficiency of electric energy. Its 95% working efficiency in mains mode ranks among the top in the industry, and this value can reach 98% in energy-saving mode. The output power factor of the 9PX series is as high as 0.9, which is 28% higher than the load capacity of other similar products. In addition, the ultra-high power density (5400W output is on
