Requirements and Importance of UPS Power Supply

The emergence of UPS power supply is closely related to the development of computers, and establishing an uninterrupted power supply system is essential for any electricity user. The reliable power supply of the computer room is of utmost importance, and UPS uninterruptible power supply is set up to solve the problem of uninterrupted power supply.

The Importance of UPS Power Supply

The security, confidentiality, stability, and continuity of internal equipment in the computer room are crucial. The critical infrastructure hardware requires continuous and stable operation, therefore ensuring stable power supply for equipment is crucial. Reddy Technology has tailored a high-quality, stable, and error free UPS power system.

Computer rooms may be familiar to everyone, in order to ensure the stable operation of computers and the security of data in the computer room. The most uninterrupted UPS power supply plays an important role in the computer room, providing protection for sudden power outages. Simply put, due to the poor power supply quality of the municipal power grid, it cannot meet the requirements of computer systems for power supply. Using UPS power supply is a technical measure to improve the quality of power supply.

In the computer room, in order to avoid accidents, the UPS uninterruptible power supply has become a necessary equipment. The main function is to provide stable and uninterrupted power supply to the computers and other equipment stored in the Hong Kong computer room in a timely manner in the event of power interruption outside the computer room, in order to avoid affecting the normal operation of servers or the loss of important data and hardware damage.

According to IDC statistics, 45% of computer failures in China are mainly caused by power issues. In China, the average number of power outages in large cities is 0.5 times per month, in medium-sized cities it is 2 times per month, and in small cities or villages it is 4 times per month. The power grid has at least these problems: power outages, surges, frequency oscillations, voltage transients, voltage fluctuations, voltage drops, and pulse interference. Therefore, improving power quality starts with configuring a UPS power supply.

Requirements for UPS power supply

(1) Due to the initial low load, there is a possibility of expansion during later operation. There must be redundant design, and load power outage is not allowed during expansion.

(2) Can be used in conjunction with existing generators as a fault-tolerant configuration for power supply or distribution, ensuring smooth power supply.

(3) When a certain UPS fails, the battery of the faulty UPS can be transferred to other normal working UPS to ensure the utilization rate of the invested battery and sufficient discharge time.

(4) For all batteries used in UPS uninterruptible power supplies, there is an alarm function for leak detection to prevent fire accidents.

(5) It can provide remote or near remote quick shutdown function for emergencies such as earthquakes and fires to avoid more serious losses in emergency situations.

(6) The space in the computer room is limited, and equipment can be deployed in the most space saving way to save space. The consideration of load-bearing capacity can also be taken into account to avoid damage to the floor structure.

(7) In the event of a UPS uninterruptible power supply failure, the UPS can still continue to supply power to the load and ensure reliable power supply even during non live maintenance.

(8) Monitoring software is required to enable remote network monitoring via Ethernet and to simultaneously monitor multiple UPS systems for centralized monitoring.

(9) Provide temperature compensation charging function for the battery, and perform regular automatic charging and discharging. The discharge time or depth of battery voltage can be remotely set and controlled by the user’s maintenance personnel.
