APC PDU

What is the difference between the PDU power supply used in a computer room and a regular power supply?

1. Compared to ordinary power strips, rack-mount power strips (PDUs) offer several advantages: more rational design and layout, stricter quality and standards, longer trouble-free operating time, superior protection against leakage, overcurrent, and overload, resistance to damage from frequent plugging and unplugging, lower heat rise, and more flexible and convenient installation. They are suitable for industries with stringent power requirements. Furthermore, they fundamentally eliminate the safety hazards associated with ordinary power strips, such as frequent power outages, burnouts, and fires caused by poor contact and insufficient load capacity.

2. In the field of computer rooms and communication hardware, PDU refers to rack power strips. Compared with ordinary sockets, these rack-specific power strips have many advantages, including better safety and quality, higher power capacity, more socket types, comprehensive protection functions, flexible control functions, ease of use, and convenient intelligent management. The only disadvantage is that they are significantly more expensive than ordinary sockets.

4. Interface compatibility:

1) It can realize bidirectional input, IEC socket input, front panel input, rear input, and end input.

2) It has various specifications of national standard, British standard, German standard, American standard and Indian standard.

3) Various plug specifications are available, including 10A, 16A and industrial couplings.
