1. If overcharged, a fault may occur within the UPS power supply, leading to an increase in internal operational resistance, deformation of battery plates, and even a decrease in the useful capacity of the battery, thereby reducing the operational function of the UPS power supply; If the battery is not fully charged, its useful function will not be fully utilized, and the service life of the battery will be greatly shortened over time.
In order to properly charge the UPS battery and ensure the healthy operation of the UPS power supply, a stable mains power supply line should be selected to charge the UPS power supply, and the mains power supply line should not supply power to other devices to prevent external influences on the input power supply.
2. Take measures to prevent UPS batteries from undergoing deep discharge, as frequent excessive discharge can greatly shorten the battery’s lifespan; Although many well-known brands of UPS batteries currently have excessive discharge protection function, discharging UPS batteries with a small load or even without load can easily cause deep discharge phenomenon. If the UPS battery undergoes deep discharge, it will take at least 12 hours to fully charge the battery from the beginning, which will greatly reduce the power consumption of the UPS battery.
The UPS power supply should be discharged every three months to ensure not only the service life of the UPS battery, but also the longest backup time. In order to effectively extend the service life of UPS, attention must be paid to the discharge of the battery to ensure that the UPS battery can always operate efficiently.
