Seven operational precautions for discharging Schneider UPS power supply

UPS power supply has a significant impact on maintaining data and preventing damage to machinery and equipment. So it is particularly important to correctly use and maintain UPS power supply.

1.When discharging the UPS power supply, it is not necessary to fully discharge the battery capacity, only two-thirds of the rated capacity is needed. Discharging can activate the battery and also extend the lifespan of UPS batteries.

2. It is necessary to understand the approximate duration of UPS power backup before discharge, and be prepared during discharge to avoid load downtime and equipment damage caused by unprepared discharge until the backup time.

3.If it is a medium to high power Schneider UPS power supply, the rectifier and bypass input switch generally need to be designed independently. The OFF rectifier switch can be used to prevent the UPS from immediately switching to bypass operation when the battery is discharged.

4.The UPS power supply room monitoring system consists of three parts: front-end equipment, user/server APP, and PC large screen terminal. Users can log in through the user app/PC to view the real-time operation status and related parameters of UPS equipment. They can also visually monitor it on the large screen of the mobile phone, and receive alarm information synchronously when abnormalities occur.

5. When discharging manually, it is necessary to check the real-time drop in battery voltage of the UPS in order to restore the input of mains power at any time.

6.If you can see the UPS battery, you need to first check if there is any obvious deformation or leakage of the battery.

7. If the UPS uninterruptible power supply itself has the function of actively setting the discharge time, it can make the UPS uninterruptible power supply discharge on its own, which can determine whether the battery has the ability to discharge.

Reasonable maintenance and utilization of UPS should be carried out throughout the entire lifecycle of UPS. Therefore, timely discharge of UPS power can extend its service life.
