UPS Development Trends and Selection
01 Intelligentization
The hardware of an intelligent UPS basically consists of a regular UPS plus a microcomputer system.
02 Digitalization
The UPS uses the latest digital signal controller (DSP), realizing 100% digital operation of the UPS system.
03 High frequency
The technological development of UPS has progressed from SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier ) devices to IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) devices. While applying IGBTs to inverters , some UPS manufacturers have begun to explore their application in the rectifier section of UPS systems, aiming to improve overall efficiency, reduce interference with the power grid, and save space and costs.
04 Greening
In addition to installing a high-efficiency input filter , a UPS should also use power factor correction technology at the mains input . This can eliminate the harmonic current generated by the rectifier and filter circuit
and compensate for the input power factor.
05 UPS Application Development Trends
The standardization of manufacturing and supply channels for all power supply equipment, the integration and standardization of connections for all power supply equipment and components (including load racks), the centralization of power status management for all power supply equipment and components (including PDUs in load racks), and the modularization, redundancy configuration, and hot-swappable connectivity of all power supply equipment and components are key aspects of implementing the NCPI (Completely Continuous Power Supply) concept. The specific solution involves establishing a complete UPS power supply system, consisting of four subsystems: power supply, air conditioning (primarily the IT rack microenvironment), IT equipment mechanical support, and system management. Its greatest strength lies in its adaptability, elevating the availability, manageability, and scalability of the power supply system to a new level.
