5)Battery maintenance

The UPS battery pack may experience self discharge, which can cause damage if left unused for a long time. Therefore, regular charging and discharging are necessary. If a maintenance free absorption electrolyte system battery is used, no gas will be generated during normal use. However, if the user uses it improperly and causes overcharging of the battery pack, gas will be generated, and the internal pressure of the battery pack will increase. In severe cases, it can cause the battery to swell, deform, leak or even break. If the user discovers this phenomenon, they should immediately replace the battery pack.

6)Pay attention to safety

Due to the high voltage of UPS battery packs, there is a certain risk of electric shock to the human body. Therefore, safety measures should be taken when loading and unloading conductive connecting strips and output lines. The selected materials should be insulated, especially the output nodes should have anti electric shock settings.

7)Charging voltage

In the charging process of UPS, if the charging voltage is too high, it will cause overcharging of the battery pack, otherwise it will result in insufficient charging of the battery pack. When the charging voltage is abnormal, it may cause errors in the battery equipment data. Therefore, when installing battery packs, it is necessary to pay attention to the correctness of battery standards and quantities.

8)Charging current

Similar to the voltage requirements of UPS, excessive current should be avoided as much as possible when charging and discharging the UPS battery pack. Although UPS battery packs can sometimes withstand a certain degree of high current, they should still be prevented as much as possible in practical operation, otherwise it will cause deformation of the battery plates, increase the internal resistance of the battery, and in severe cases, the battery capacity will seriously decrease, resulting in a significant reduction in the life of the battery pack.

9)Deep discharge

The discharge depth of UPS also has a significant impact on the service life of batteries. The deeper the discharge depth of a battery, the fewer its cycles of use. Therefore, deep discharge of the battery should be prevented during use

10)Load size

The general user believes that the larger the load of APC UPS uninterruptible power supply, the better its maintenance effect on the computer, so they choose products with high price and high load capacity when purchasing. However, in actual application, the load on users is only 30% or even less of the UPS, which actually affects the service life of the UPS, as its internal battery pack often cannot operate completely normally. Of course, it does not mean that 100% additional load is the best. If so, any small problems with the UPS can cause significant damage. In practical operation, it is indicated that selecting a load of 50% to 80% is the best option.
