UPS maintenance points for high temperatures in summer
To cope with the arrival of high temperatures in summer, UPS equipment maintenance should focus on battery UPS、 Starting from the distribution system and other aspects, pay attention to the following points:
Regarding batteries
Ensure that air conditioning is installed in the battery room and has good cooling effect to avoid the impact of air conditioning failure on battery operation; If it is not possible to install air conditioning due to objective conditions, the inspection cycle of the battery room should be shortened.
Check for any expansion, deformation, or leakage of the battery, and address any issues as soon as possible. High temperatures between batteries can not only worsen battery aging, but can also lead to battery fires in severe cases.
If UPS has a battery charging temperature compensation function, a battery temperature sensor should be installed, which has two benefits:
1.Measure the internal resistance of the battery or use the UPS battery testing function for testing. If it is found that the battery backup time is significantly reduced compared to the expected time, preventive replacement of the battery pack can be considered.
2.Check if the generator set is functioning properly. In the event of a power outage and insufficient battery backup time, it should be able to start in a timely manner.
UPS aspect
Check if the cooling channels of the UPS are blocked and if the fan is running properly. If the UPS has a dust screen, check if it needs to be cleaned or replaced.
Check if there has been a high temperature alarm in the UPS history. If there is a similar alarm, consider preventive replacement of fan components based on the service life of the fan.
UPS internal power devices, AC/DC capacitors, inductors, etc. should be inspected for any abnormal conditions caused by overheating.
If precision air conditioning is not installed in the UPS room or distribution room, consideration should be given to the reduction of insulation gap caused by high humidity and dust, as well as the risk of arcing. Precision air conditioning or dehumidifiers should be installed as much as possible or equipment should be cleaned properly.
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
Check that the operating temperature of the distribution system transformer, circuit breaker, and terminal temperature are within the normal range.
